How much does a web developer cost per day? Can we help hire one for TBH?

But seriously, can we set something up and those who are willing give a little and pay for a pro to work on the site for a couple of days? I keep hearing "the guys who run the site have day jobs, be patient." And I totally get that. But I think a good chunk of us would help the site pay for someone who's actual day job is to work on websites. If they'll allow it, I'm in. If not, I think I'm out for awhile. Lately things are as bad or worse than they've been since the switchover.

I understand that. But I kinda doubt the supporting member money is going towards hiring a pro, or it would've already been done, and I also highly doubt that supporting member $$ is coming in like it used to now that people have so much trouble accessing the site. I've been on the site a long time, but have only been consistently active the last six months or so. Around the time I started getting to the point where I felt like I used the site enough that I should become a supporting member they made the switch and the site quit working. I'd much rather give money earmarked directly for fixing the site than pay to become a supporting member, and I would give a good deal bit more than becoming a supporting member costs if I knew it was going to be used directly to fix the site. I'll gladly become a supporting member once the site runs like a proper site again. I also think many of the supporting members would give money to this cause, and also give much more than what they donated to become a SM.

The last week or so I've been unable to get on the site more than I've been able to access it, and when it does work it's been dial-up slow for me, often freezing in the middle of loading posts. It's running okay at this moment, but I'm also on a desktop. Getting on from my iphone has been 50/50 at best lately.

As I've said before, you don't have to get a fancy sticker to support something. And if you have one, it dont make your dollar any greener than mine.

I have to wonder why some seem to have constant problems. I get on daily, multiple times a day on a PC but have used the phone just to check things out. I have no problems 99% of the time. Are things perfect and the way Michael and staff want them, no but they will get there I believe. I can get messages, close classified threads, etc. I'm not trying to be a smart aleck but truly curious why all the problems for some.

I’m not one of the ones that always has problems. I mean, it always runs kinda slow, and a lot of the features still don’t work, but for awhile there i was able to consistently access the site. The last ten days or so, however, have not been good. That said, currently it’s running pretty okay.

I'm curious also why some have problems and some seem to not have problems. Lately I've been in the having constant problems crowd. Dialup speed with occasional bursts of lighting fast speed that doesn't last but a thread or two. This is phone or laptop and I always check on another site to see if it's my equipment or TBH and it's always TBH.

Something isn't right for sure. Probably 20-30 seconds of "working" for most anything to happen.
