a lot to learn before i jump in though.
sorry DJ, not trying to steal your thread but wanting to learn the process and needs also
hey thanks for posting my video ! my recommendation is go to silencertalk.com to find all all you want to know about suppressors and legalities. most of the major manufacturers hang out there, so you can get good first hand answers.

you can also look at all my pig hunting videos .. i've shot a dozen pigs or so this year so far and while it keeps some of the sounds down , they still run ..
If you catch them in the open , you may have more opportunities for a second shot as they can't tell where the shot came from as well... but it's still noisy and they still run , even with subsonics .. the bullet hit sounds like you slam a phone book on a table ... (check out the video..)

No, we toted 3 rifles. That would be illegal!

Getting a suppressor is pretty easy, the wait is AGONIZING. Go to your local class III dealer and they will walk you through everything (my class III guy down in edinburg has some of the best prices shipped to you). A CAN makes a big difference, even with supersonic ammo. As mentioned before it seems my 308 with supers is quieter than my 22lr unsuppressed, with that being said it still makes noise and you can most certainly hear the super sonic crack. I recently purchased a 300 blk upper, which I have only ran subs through so far. All I can say is WOW subs make a HUGE difference!! I think my paintball gun and the 300 blk shooting a 220gr slug are pretty close!! Putting the can on my regular AR-15 upper was a pretty big disappointment and I think the speed and gas coming out of the action has a lot to do with the sound. Also, I made a choice when I purchased mine that I didn't want a big collection of suppressors. My suppressor will handle anything smaller than a 300wm, which suits my needs well. My plan is to have 3 suppressors. One for my rifles, one for my pistols (will be buying a 45 can in the future) and one for my rimfires. I would recommend trying before you buy if you possible. Do your research, there are plenty of sights out there that have DB data for all to see (silencerforum.com is a pretty good sight for comparison purposes). Buy the best you can afford, it's definitely a long term investment. You may cry once with the initial purchase, but if you choose the right one, you will have no desire for another in the same caliber.

                  Silencerorum.com

Bryan is doing a lot of testing of the performance of various can and developing a base of data.

                          yup,
SC-Texas is Sean Cody, the man knows more about NFA laws than the ATF does
If you want a suppressor or SBR, he's the man to go to and have a trust set up...

Good info, just wanted to pass along, I have a Browning Lever Rifle in .22, it will cycle shorts, reg, and LR. Get some CBs or Subsonic ammo for it and it is super quiet and you dont need a supressor but you have multiple shots, it is very light weight and surprisingly very accurate. Also have a H&R single shot in .308 its really quiet with managed recoil rounds or with subsonic handloads, only downfall its a single shot.

If you have a Can on your AR and happen to forget it in your brothers truck one night and he gets stopped... You and the brother are in trouble... But if you have a trust with your family on it, they can use it whenever.

$200 tax is still the same, just negates some other issues that come up with just having it registered to you alone.

THIS!!!! You need to see Mitsy Barajas, She is in Midtown Houston on I45. Awesome person and I would recommend her to any one,
