A little Courtesy PLEASE!

Saturday evening my daughter and I were on stand. This stand sits on the fence line of another piece of property. It was around 6pm when I heard 4wheelers. Sure enough, 3 people on 3 atvs with a trailer loaded with corn. Went right by me. Seriously, who fills feeders at 6pm on opening day of bow season. I understand some people dont bow hunt, but at least show the hunters that do bow hunt a little courtesy. Even if they werent aware of it being opening day for bow season, they should still get on the same page. I told the lease manager and he feels that we shouldnt say anything to them because it is their property and they can do what they want on it. True, but I feel that someone should at least say something just incase they dont know any better. What ya think?

Any chance you can move off the fence line a little? 100-200 yards off the fence and the deer in front of you won't be bothered.

Probably wont do any good, and may cause feeder fillings at 7am and 6pm every weekend.

you can say something but probably it will come back to bite you. a couple of years ago i had some deer stands down on my creek bottom. The neighbor womans grandkids turned the pasture next to my woods into a 4 wheeler track..they had races down there. I would be in a stand and they would show up. I saw the mother in town and said.."whenever your kids are going to ride 4 wheelers why dont you call me so i wont hunt that day"..i said it nice...she got mad and said..."Just for that i am going to tell them to ride every day, How about that?.....and they did. The opening day of gun season they drove around my property from daylight to dark. They would stop and reve up the motors...also they had guns which they shot in the air all day long. I shouldnt have said anything. the sheriff told me the same thing...Their property and i couldnt do anything about it. Thankfully they have graduated and moved away.....Shoe

Ive filled many feeders in oct durring hunting hours. some people just dont have the time to do it in the middle of the day everytime.

I had em building blinds and filling feeders at sunup on opening morning ON the fenceline, which was about 600 yards from me. Needless to say the mature deer didn't show like they had at every feeder sling for the last 7 days. That's huntin! New plan on my books now! hunt weekday afternoons on consecutive days to better my odds of catching up with the buck I am after. We will see if it works the latter couple days of this week

That's hunter harassment.

But anyway..to the OP...good luck on educating the inconsiderate. That's usually a lesson in futility.

I wish I could, but I'm on the edge of a pasture and where I'm at now is the only way to get a shot at my feeder.

It happens to me. But I also have my feeder close to the fence. They have ran a few deer off, and have ran a few deer to me.

Thats the chance you take hunting a fence line. NOW what would you have done if you shot the deer and it ran back across the fence onto their property. Your best bet in this situation is to keep quiet cause if THAT ever happens they can look at you and say SORRY. I would suggest moving your set up.

These were probally gun hunters and they dont always get it. probally their first chance to get out there and check setups.

The reason Im on the fence line is because when I signed up for this lease, that was the spot that was given to me. If it was up to me I would move to the opposite sid eof the lease.
