I just sit on a chair and put mine right in the top of my thigh. I just poke around until I find a not so sensitive spot and put it there. It hurts less if you completely relax your muscle before injecting.

        I've never used a thigh.

I rotate between thighs and cheeks. Just go round-robin with it.

On the thigh, go about 2/3 of the way up your quad towards the waste, and place your thumb on your femur. Lay your hand flat on your quad, fingers on the outside of your leg, and where you make a "V" between your thumb and index finger is where the injection site is. Not the best illustration, but this gives an idea..

Yes, that's where I do it.

I called Doc's nurse about the placement rotation. She said it doesn't matter. If you want to rotate each leg or use same leg. It won't affect anything. She also said that Doc said to do legs only! ??? Not sure why.

Yes, you must draw back the handle to see if you have blood which means you hit your blood vessel. Do NOT inject it. Also make sure bubble is out of the syringe otherwise you can rupture your heart with the air bubble, if you accidentally hit blood vessel and put air in it.

Always draw back the syringe to check for blood. That should be first thing you do every time you inject it.

The reason for the rotation is the keep the injection sites a little fresher. I noticed when I first started the injections doing the same sites would build up some scar tissue. I was also using 21G heads to inject at the time, but still the rotating just seemed to help for me.

Yes. ChadC is right. 18g to draw out then swap out the needle to 25g. 21 may be too thick to inject it. No wonder you in the world of hurt.

                            Ouch! Lol

That's gonna hurt for day or two! But injects more quickly than 25g will.
