    hard call..

Giving another man's wife orders on his/her own lawn.....is flipping out enough IMO.

And a badge is NOT a tool, in this situation anyway.

If someone wants to play in the mud, they better be ready to pay for playing in the mud. I would have done the same as you, and since he did called to appologize I would let it all drop. However, there are things in a 45 minute arguement that might change my thoughts on dropping it.

I wasnt talking about the way he was talking to Red's wife...? oh i see you thought I said..the cop flipped out,., .. no I said 'flipped it out' as in the badge ..

don't disagree with you..he shouldnt have used the badge in the way he did.... but I understand he was acting as a father and using what he had.
not justifying it.. just saying i understand..

Guy is a jerk and gives the good LEO's a bad name... I say report him and don't feel bad about it....

If the kid was 17 the contract is non-binding if taken to court.. If he is 18 he is the proud owner of a used Jeep lol..

Shoulda held out for the total amount. Then the kid would not have had the jeep to begin with!

I think you did right the badge flipping wouldn't have done him no good with me neither.

I would have simply said NO and walked back into the house.. no need for all the drama..

                      agreed.

I am over it. BUT, after telling the story on a drinking occasion (bsing, and sharing stories) the guy I was BSing with said I should have called and reported him.

Now, he called me back and appologized. I give him that and can respect that he was man enough to do so. And, had I have known I could have called and reported him for it at that point I probably wouldnt have.

BUT, at the same time had I known to call and report him I would have done so as he was leaving my house and he would not have had the chance to appologize.

For the record. Either way I am not going to do anything about this its in the past and I forgave him. but wanted to share and am curious that IF I HAD reported him would he or could he get in trouble? future reference maybe? get a badge number?

Although that is probably a once in a lifetime thing.

check out ยง 39.03. Official Oppression B.

I'd call up the Internal Affairs office for the PD in quesiton, provide them the story and let them decide if he was out line or not.

The reason he pulled the cop reference at that very moment is because he knew he was in the wrong.

I'd drop it, since he did call and apologize, plus i bet his son got an earful or more when they left. dont you know that kids pucker factor went up when his pops asked him if you were right. haha

He was wrong on all counts, but he DID apologize, and you DID accept. Sounds like case closed to me.
