As long as they pile up in front of your house - no problem.

When they pile up in front of my house = problem.

The first thing I do is blow everything into the yard, and then I mulch it in with the mower. It is my leaves to feed to my worms....

I blow mine where ever the mower sends them. No curbs, streets or storm drains to dirty up.

guess it's like flicking cigarette butts out the window...

my concern is really with the drainage.....it would be yours as well when those storm drains are needed...then they back up and flood a house because of the obstructions that have gathered inside or at the spillway...seen it happen....

Yea by doing this they just go into the drainage system and can clog it up on a heavy storm. I am guilty of it to when my oaks start dropping all the leaves and catkins. but once thats over i usually bag or just mulch if it isnt to high.

Never mind didnt see it was already posted.

I have never seen grass clippings clog a storm drain inlet. I sweep all of mine into a pile, put gas on them and light them on fire

I'm with Black on this one. Not cool to put your trash clippings off on someone else. I agree that there are certainly bigger problems in life to worry about but just the same it doesn't make it ok. Just my humble opinion.

I wait until windy days like today and rack the leaves over the fence. Cut the grass and the wind does the rest on the clippings.

I would think it would have to be bags and bags of grass to plug it. Doesn't thatch drain off all the yards and go down the drain/

your clippings will still end up in your rivers and streams regardless of whether or not you have storm drains, which is why the rule was set in place. it's to prevent the increase of nitrates and dissolved organic carbon in the surface water.
