I call it spurring the economy because i dont want to have to store gas or a darn treacherous piece of equipment that will cause undue fluid leaking should i get behind it and operate it in the manner it was meant to be used. I'l let the college kid or someone else mow it and let him have spending cash .

I as well worked for a lawn and landscape business that a friend owned. We never blew anything in the street. Lazy in my opinion! And yes we mowed 15-20 yards every evening from 4:30 till dark every day after slinging beer all day. LAZY

I owned a lanscaping business and worked so hard to please people, including myself. There were times that neither myself or my employees could get every single piece of grass and/or leaves picked up off the curbs, streets, sidewalks, but I still tried to leave things neat. Sometimes the wind is your enemy and it becomes useless to try and chase things down the streets and also risk getting run over in the process.

There were times we'd get blamed for the hydraulic fluid or even the trash stew that the trash trucks would accidentally leak onto the street, when stopped to pick up the trash. I always picked up litter that was against the curbs and later if a piece of litter happened to be tossed out by a passer by, after the lawn crews were gone, yes, I'd be blamed for that too.

My crews were trained to blow the clippings back onto the yards and if they needed to pick it up, I had lawn vacuums they could use to do it quickly, if the lawn wasn't bagged. We often didn't quit mowing till after 9 pm. Nothing lazy about that type of work.

Here's what I got from this thread...BlackSunshine probably has a well kept yard and has suffered some drainage issues at some point in time. Many of you do your own yards. Some folks that are calling the yard workers lazy for doing this are probably right for the most part (it reflects back on their owners/bosses as well). JB thinks that the folks who can afford to pay other folks to cut their yard are really the lazy ones....hmm, OK. JB's responses to the folks questioning his response made me think I probably wouldn't want to hire him. Justifying your production at work due to rising gas prices and the desire to get to the next job don't really get any play in my ride. Folks repsonding to JoeBuck's quotes with a "^^^^ This" or "Spot On" also think that the homeowners are lazy. One of them I'm assuming is a taxidermist based on his screen name...The taxidermist is correct, I am too lazy to learn how to mount all the animals I whack, therefore I pay my taxidermist plenty of money each year. We pay a maid that cleans our house once every 2 weeks so yeah, guess I'm lazy. Pay a pool company to clean the pool once a week, guess I'm lazy. Pay my Yardguys to mow my yard once a week, yup, guess I'm lazy....pay somebody to chage my oil and wash my truck...lazy....work my azz off to provide for my family to where I can afford to pay somebody else to do the things I don't want to do...then yeah, guess I'm lazy....responding to this thread as a nice way to wind down after finishing up a 14 hr work day. probably a waste of time, but I kinda like being lazy...

JB has a college degree, thanks in part to lazy people that did not like mowing their own yard, and makes more than enough money to have people mow his lawn, clean his house, wash his car, change his oil, etc, etc, etc..... However, he will not pay people to do something that he is perfectly capable of doing.

              But thanks for the evaluation.
