How would you kill this deer?

Ok here's the deal. Got a call from a co-worker yesterday. Her inlaws raise axis deer, and have a 2y/o buck they raised from a baby. This guy was bottle feed and has been a pet till friday night. He got mom-in-law down. Now he has to find new home. That new home will be my freezer. They don't want anyone else to get hurt. Since he will come up and eat out of your hand, how would you kill him?

I'm thinkin gettin as far as I can and rifle shooting him. I can't seem to grasp the ideal of just walkin up and poppin him him the head.

Climb up in a tree and put some feed on the ground like 20 yards away. Snipe him with your bow bro.

That's why I hate it when people try to demestacate wild animals. But I understand I'n some situations it can't be helped. Idk that's a tough one. I would try and get someone else to do it.

It is no different than shooting an injuryed horse or cow. Just walk up to it and shoot it in the head and be done with it. Shooting this animal is not about sport it is just about getting the job done.

weird deal....I can see myself asking for advice if I were in your shoes. I would probably harvest him with a bow as mentioned above.....make it as sporting as possible....

It's simple. Act like you got some feed and them shoot him in the head with a .22. This isn't about "sport" it's about putting an animal down and meat. You're not going "hunting" for him so you shouldn't feel bad about it. Just make it quick and simple and don't waste any meat.

I'd feed him with one hand slit his throat with the other hand !

I would pop him with my bow. only because I havent shot an axis buck with my bow. Otherwise i would shoot him with whatever

If he has to be put down then walk up and put one behind the ear. Then eat well

1 hand full of corn + 1 hand full of .22 pistol + 1 right behind the ear = Full Freezer.
