I definitely am... especially during rifle season... I park my truck about 20 yards from my blind around a corner and crawl in with a buffet of junk food and water... I like to take one of my little brothers or my girlfriend and have a nice chat too... that's what hunting is about for me... to relax and have fun... I'm all about gettin something, but I'd rather have a good time anyday

I am somewhere in between your two choices. I like getting to the bind/stand early, because i like being out there.

I get in stand about 30 minutes before sunup, usually wearing sweats and a t-shirt, Stay until an hour after I see my last animal. Alot of times too my blind is my pickup as I sit overlooking the wheat fields.

I'm not above hidin the 4runner, or the pickup behind a tree or something with a cooler full of beer in the back seat.......and hunting while listening to the radio either! You'd be surprised how little attention critters will pay to a big white truck.....

              I park 100 yards away.
I get there 15 minutes before I can legally shoot.
I leave by 9:30 at the latest no matter if it's DST or not.
Afternoon hunts I will get there a little earlier (4:30 or so) to just enjoy the afternoon/have a beer.
If it's hot, I hunt in shorts with my leafy suit and pray my tripod is high enough to keep my scent up in the clouds
I want to kill monster deer, but I could really care less if it doesn't happen. I'm not THAT MAD at the deer, and I honestly don't think I could sit in a stand for an hour and a half before I could even see my hand in front of my face. I have a hard enough time staring out of the same shooting lane for 2 hours after daylight.

A few years ago I quit working so hard at hunting and started having more fun with it. Now when I want to stay around camp drinking beer and cooking that's what I do. When my son is in the blind making too much racket, so be it. My number one priority is having fun and spending time with my family outdoors.

I am right there with ya -

No extra money on SCENT FREE garb - Just make sure I (or my clothes) don't smell
                  No scent spray or killer
No special place to keep my hunting clothes (other than in the hunting closet)
No worrying about the lack of activity in October - I have been doing this long enough to know that October hunting can't even hold a candle to the late season hunting when the animals are NEEDING the feed you have scattered on the ground. But I still enjoy getting out there in October and enjoying the outdoors. I have come to realize that driving to my stand just won't work in the mornings - If I drive in on morning hunts, I don't see squat, if I walk, I see all the deer that I normally see on my trail cams every day. Place is only 600 acres and every deer on the place hears me coming down the road if I drive in so I will continue to walk from the house instead of driving in.

Im pretty much the same way.... its not that serious of a game.

Hunting to me is a 50/50 proposition anyways

50% luck and 50% being in a target rich environment

I dont carry a backpack full of **** to the stand.. a bow/gun, binos and a pocket knife is about all I need.

I get to my stand about at the break of daylight. Usually end up trying to get in my stand without spooking the deer that are already out.

I dont waste my money on scents but I believe dead down wind works for bowhunting.

I cough when I need to and pee when I have to and still seem to stay covered up in deer.

I have been way laid back on hunting this year. I have not even hunted so far this year. My wife thinks that I am sick. It was way to hot in west texas for me to even go hunting at all. I just made a decision that I would let bow season go this year and start hunting during rifle season. I knew also this year that I would not have as much time to hunt also so that may also have something to do with it.

I've had some great hunts listening to college football and drinking beer in the truck.

I'll hunt hard to kill my trophy with my bow. I pick my battles on how far I go though. For instance, I spent over an hour setting up and brushing in the blind that I killed my 181 in. Yet, I shot him in the same clothes I was in while spending the time to set the blind 5 hours earlier.

Now that has happened, it's all blue jeans/shorts, T-Shirts, and the .257 mag. My next set of goals are to get all of the "good" young deer on video and help others (friends/family) find a mature buck for them. This has made the season even more enjoyable for me than it already was.

ground threat...im the exact same way...put a little spray on if i think about it before i go to the stand, have my bro drop me off on the wheeler and make a little noise opening my coke and crunching noise when im eating peanut butter crackers. i honestly have had more and way better luck doing that than the full all out scent control and quietness.....matter of fact i was rifle hunting at our place in zapata cty last year and had quite a few deer on the road...well the wind was bad and the door blew open on the blind and out goes my gun with the door...so i crawled out of the blind picked up my gun ran the wheeler down the road and fed again crawled back in the blind and ten minutes later i shot the doe i had picked out before the gun went airborne!! there were still a few deer in the road as all this was happening also to say the least! the gun was a remington 7mm topped with a burris scope and the gun was shooting the same as if it never fell out of the stand...i was shocked to say the least... any way this is a great thread and every one has their way and i respect it and good luck to all this season
