How many of us are like this....

Don't over "think it" or over "do it" when it comes to hunting? What i mean is who else gets to the stand 15-30 minutes before the feeder goes off, not 1-3 hours before? Who else drives into their hunting area and feeds like you own the place and not come crawling in with duck tape over your mouth? Who else doesn't spend a months pay check on scent stuff, maybe just spray the scent free spray a few times over your body once you get out of your truck? Who else doesn't cry when its a rainforest out there or maybe a bad moon phase and you didnt see anything? I will admit years ago i use to be like this but i have dicovered that i have had better hunts and better results when i dont over think it or over do it. To each his own but just curious how many of us are like this. Do i think you are wrong if you are not, heck no, just curious. I just know some guys that are and because of this super green range conditions and acorns they are trying way to hard, IMO, and are getting really really frustrating with hunting right now. My typical hunts is like this in the am. Right now feeder goes off @ 7:15 am and i drive my truck, golf cart or 4 wheeler to about 100-150 yards away, get out and walk to feeder, hand feed and get in double bull or box blind anywhere from 6:45 to 7:00....hunt till 8 maybe 8:30, then get out and walk to truck....pm. hunt i have my feeder going off @ 6:15 pm and i get there at 5:30 to 5:45 and hunt till dark ~7:30

      Here.

I find myself hunting in jeans or shorts and a black tshirt. Get to the stand about 15-30 minutes before daylight.

If the wind is right, I'm good.

When hunting becomes too much like work, it's time to do something else.

Yes, but some of Buck Medley's super human hunting prowress rubbed off on you when you were hugging him and Dervin!

We've been trying to figure out our deer this year but have had no success at all in doing so. I've gone to the blind early and seen nothing. I've gone to the blind late and seen nothing. The only thing I have really done that has shown me any deer is stay in the blind a little later - and then I got to watch a doe with her two fawns vacuum my pen. I do park quite a bit further away though.

I am pretty laid back when it comes to hunting as well. Some people take it way to serious.

I am with you on that one, If I get in the stand too early, I want to get out too early. Some of the best hunts I have had have been sitting in the blind with the wife, talking and cutting up and from out of nowhere we are covered up, Just seems to make the hunt more enjoyable if you are not so tensed up and trying to do everything "perfect"

I take my Boys 10 and 12 with me ALWAYS so being serious is out of the question, its just about us having fun and some Quality Father and Son time.(Altho its like we are both 12 sometimes with all the horseplay)....I dont take Hunting too Serious

I go at it about like that, but I park farther away, and probably hunt a little longer. I'm done with scent killer garbage, I'll try not to get any diesel on me....but that's about it. The acorn crop, and corn piling up under feeders has me looking to switch gears a little...but that's about the size of it.

I have been known to grab a thermos of coffee, my .264, and wear my work clothes to the blind too.b

I try not to overdo it. but I have found this year I am pressing to get a nice buck.. I try to hunt as much as I can, maybe I am hunting to hard.. some things I have found out... If I hunt the wind right, I have more success of seeing deer, I use scent-a-way from wal-mart and I dress in the field. (didn't spend any money on storage container, already had it) I drive to about 150 yds from my blind. I try to get situated 1hr before feeder goes off. (verdict still out on this) sometimes I get out late in the afternoon and get in about 15 minutes before feeder goes off and have tremendous luck.. I don't have the funds or time to go all out, I still use a 1995 PSE bow that I bought loaded for 100$. I would love to upgrade but this one has killed 5 hogs and a doe. soooo.. I will keep doing what I am doing and pay more attention to wind and location for the rest of the season. I also try to read game calenders and watch the weather for a week in advance

                      just my 2 cents

I might go a little earlier then you for the afternoon hunt but I'm certainly not an over thinker. I just like the sit, nice peace and quiet and usually is the best nap of the year.

wind to me is the best scent control. I try not to be bad about exposing myself but I'm also not a freak about it.

I'm angling that way. The wife observed that I didn't seem to enjoy the thing I loved to do the most. That's when I stepped back and realized I was way too serious about it, forgot to just enjoy the time in the woods. Now I relish the freedom, opportunity and ability to be in the woods, the rest is just icing However, I still want a bunch of icing!

The older and more "experienced" I get, the better this sounds.
