Yeah. But even their Rem 700 model is a really solid offering, better than any Timney I've owned. You can get the 700 TT down to 1lb, and I think most of mine are about that.

For an AR, really like the LaRue two stage product. It's probably 4lbs but good for that platform.

2.5 to 3. A man can do some fine shooting with a 2.8 lb trigger that breaks like glass.

I'm at around 1lb on my my rigs as well...I have a tt on the vudoo & a timney calvin on a model 7, but still prefer the jewel's sharp sided shoe & been shooting them for 30 years.

1lb is most certainly not for everyone, but when you put thousands of rounds downrange shooting benchrest with 1.5oz the 1lb feels right for me when hunting.

I'm in the 1-1.5 lb. camp except for I keep the big bores closer to 3 lbs.

All mine are 1.5 on my bolt guns. I use 2lb cmc triggers on my Ar's

Most of my hunting rifles are set around 1 lb. My PRS style rifle is set at 8 oz.

It’s all about knowing your rifle and what you have confidence in

Probably own a dozen Jewell triggers and most are set at 12 ozs. I usually hunt from a box blind and shoot free recoil

2-3 lbs is ideal for the average hunter

I might be late and you already ordered, but I’d clean up the factory trigger first before ordering a timney.

I’ve got an American Predator in 308, it’s my main hunting rig. I polished the trigger and the sear(3000grit sandpaper with mothers mag, then a buffing wheel on the dremel) and replaced the adjustment spring with one from a ballpoint pen(gotta find a pen with a fatter spring, believe the Pilot G2s have them, as do most of the fatter body cheap click pens). After reassembly and my initial guess at adjustment, I couldn’t take up the blade safety without it firing. Had to turn the adjustment in to get it right, but I’d say I have about a 2lb pull, I prefer it lighter like that, and when adjusted all the way up it’s about 3lb. Cost me $0.

The factory trigger is still not a timney when it comes to all other things that make a nice trigger, but it’s still pretty decent, has a light trigger pull and again cost me $0 out of pocket. I have no intention of replacing it with aftermarket. I did just put a trigger tech in my rem 700 though.

I ask this stupid question because I've never known what my trigger pull weight is, and I was wondering if it was more common practice than I thought to own a trigger pull scale.
I dont have a scale, mainly because what the weight is really doesn’t matter to me. As long as it feels like I want it to feel, I’m happy.

I base it off what my 3.5lb AR triggers feel like, and based off what other aftermarket triggers say they come preset at. Maybe I should get a scale just to satisfy the curiosity though.

I did the same thing to a Ruger American I had several years ago. It was certainly a lot smoother and lighter than it was from the factory, but that stock trigger was still creepier than Joe Biden. I didn’t keep that rifle long, but if I did, I would’ve put an aftermarket trigger in. If you’re going to be shooting it quite a bit, I definitely think it’s worth the money to replace it. I also hate blade triggers, so that just makes it worse.

Mine doesn’t have that much creep, but yes there is some there.

$450 rifle… I’m probably not going to drop $200 on a trigger. Just make it as good as I can for as cheap as I can. Thing shoots lights out as it is.

                                1-2.5lb is good.
