Do you plan to make it all including the internals? If so I recommend getting on a couple of Form 1 forums and learning from those guys. Some of them have put in a lot of time in on making them. Ill post up what mine looks like and what the internals look like as well. Give me a few.

Here is what I have the internals are stacked beside the can. I have a spacer that makes up an almost 2” blast chamber.

Now with the internals spread out.

Top view of the 60degree clipped cones.

Closer view of one of the baffles.

From what I have read it is not worth the time and effort to try and make a unicore set of baffles. These 60degree cones that I use in mine are just about as quiet as my SiCo and I can shoot sub moa all day long with it with my 10.5” 300blk and 12” 6.5g.

My 30 cal can on my ruger american shoots sub MOA. It has 60 degree cones in it that I purposely did not clip because I had no way to keep them symetrical in the can, meaning I had no way to keep the clips lined up.

My .22 can, I haven't shot groups, but I can hit beer cans at 200 yards with it every shot if the wind isn't bad. The baffles in it are freeze plugs that I pushed into a cone in a vise and then clipped them with a ball end mill with a drill press. Sketchy trying to hold them still.

I used a file to keep them straight. LOL...then I just put the end cap on.

I’ve had experience with both and my hybrid is WAY better, however I’m not sure about the materials used to build the one I tested mine against.

IMO the only benefit to a F1 is the wait. However if you screw up building it you’re out some money.

My 300blk shooting subs from my hybrid sounds like a heavy duty staple gun. Pretty awesome.

If you already have a trust it can be used.

You don’t have to have a separate trust.

I know, that question was for my sons sake as he is wanting a suppressor but does not have a trust yet.

Real “solvent traps” are pretty much junk as for sound suppression. You can build a form 1 can that has good sound and life though.

Thanks, Can you post more info on it? Rounds fired, parts supplier, weight? I'm sure lots of us are interested.

I don't know anyone with a can so I'm ignorant.

Even your blast baffles are aluminum?

The place I got the parts from is no longer in business as the ATF got them. The tube and end caps are carbon, the blast chamber is stainless and the baffles are aluminum. I don’t shoot a lot. I shoot enough to zero and hunt. Maybe a few hundred rounds through it in 3-4yrs.
