Just a question and I an not ragging on anyone, but why all of the ratshot? I guess I am different but I have shot very few snakes a rock or stick always does the trick. I am more worried about stepping on a grumpy pig than anything else and generally those run off. Like I said not poking fun at anyone I've just never been that worried about a snake.

I carry my glock 19 mos.. it's what I carry everyday and it's what I'm comfortable shooting. Having a hand cannon won't do you any good if you can't hit the side of a barn..

Shield 9 is my edc. No different at the lease. I have carried a 22mag revolver with rat shot for rattlebugs but I figured out my odds are much better of needing it for a wounded pig or a corn thievin' coon. We hunt far enough South that we occasionally have foreign visitors come through. I'm generally not worried, I assume the majority of them are harmless, but I would hate to stumble across one with bad intentions.
