I'm gonna go down fighting...my eyes are just now getting old & understand. Still trying to figure out how to stay accurate with a pistol past belly gun distance.

I would try replacing the opens with a peep sight & getting the deer close vs scoping any lever gun myself. I figure if I can hit a pie plate at 100, then it's super dead at 50.

Regardless, there are tons of good used low power leupolds that would match up with your rig.
    Good luck.

I got a bushnell trophy 1-4 on mine. Don't care for how it looks, but like that the sight picture is way better. When it is a little dusky and you are looking at a brown deer in brown grass over irons, even peeps, it hard to get a sharp sight picture, the scope really helps matters.

I have a Nikon 3x9x40 bdc on mine. Works great.

Had a Simmons straight 4X on it for years.

I use my .357 lever with open sights for hogs.

Like others have said, my eyes need the aid of a scope. I chose a Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32, and have been impressed how much it helps in low light.

Ok, awesome info. I appreciate it. Thank yall so much.

stickbowcoop, you are correct. That is a very popular combo in Pennsylvania. Probably what Im gonna opt to.

I have a 2x7 on my Marlin. My Win '94 has iron sights. Like you, my eyesight is fading and the irons are blurry. I have thought about getting a Skinner peep for the '94. It being a top eject, I would have to get the barrel mount model.
