    Scope for a 3030

I have my grandfathers 3030 Marlin. I want to killa deer with it and I want to put a scope on it. Short range shooting, under 200 yds.

    Give me some recommendations.

    Thanx

Don't scope it...'practice' with the open sights & shoot it closer like 100yds & in. THAT is where these guns are at!!

The hunt will be much more memorable & you are using that old lever like application was intended. Trust me, you will appreciated the gun & the hunt so much more this way.

Dont put a scope on it. Get right at 100 yds in and do it!

I've been thinking of putting a scout scope on one of mine...just haven't done the homework and found a good set-up. Have another that I'm thinking would be cool with peep sights on it. Let us know what you end up with!

Another fan of not putting a scope on it. Levers are better left alone

But I guess if you’re dead set on scoping it, maybe find a straight 4x

Well, this is what I want to do, but my eyes wont allow me to. The iron sights are blurry, no way I could make a shot.

A fixed 4x or a leupold vx-3i 1.5-5x20 if you want to spend a little more

The 3-9x40 are way too big for these guns

I always put straight 4x32's on my .30-30's. That is an extremely popular gun in SW PA and I think everybody who deers hunt with a rifle starts out with one haha.
