There's an former HP guy here said the .357 sig made hitting 100 yd targets pretty easy, I wouldn't know, more of 10 yd pistol guy myself.

I grew up shooting silhouettes at dallas pistol club. Chickens 25yds, pigs 50 yds, turkeys 75 and Rams at 100.
          Fun sport

I used mainly TC pistols and a Python Hunter. All were scoped though.

Is it possible to hit a target at 100 yards with a pistol? Yeah it's possible. All day might be an exaggeration but I can see getting good enough to hit something at that range fairly consistently.

I've hit a skunk and a jackrabbit at over 100 yards with a pistol. But everyone gets lucky at least once or twice in their lifetime.

This was at 75 yards. I've hit 100 at the range but only about 50%-60% and never tried it in the field. If I was to practice more with it I could probably do better.

Ever watch Jerry Miculek shoot his special 9mm at 1000 yards?

I shoot across my pond which is about a 100 yards. Like someone said, if ya walk it to the target, it's not that hard hitting a human sized target. Shooting a 12" plate all day long is for folks who practice a lot.

Yes. Very much so. With a good sight like FF III and a good trigger.

With my Thompson encore 2-7 power scope it is not to difficult with the 454 casull barrel , but not " all day," no way. With my 7mm bench rest barrel on and same power scope it would be rather easy. All from a rested postion, off hand, never tried but it would be real tuff for me to hit consistently. With an open sighted semi auto, doubt I could hit it one out of thirty, off hand. As far as the bet, is he just a general bs'er ? If so I would say bet him, if its off hand, and you can afford the bet. He's going to be out quit a bit of money on shells to have enough to shoot all day. Let us know if you guys do this, video would be great, and it will add some pressure on him, to preform. I would not give him any practice shots, so he learns were to hold. If he is for real he should not need any. As soon as he misses you win.

He was full of $h!t, but Elmer Keith could probably hit 90% of the time at that distance. If he knows his gun, and shoots a lot, I wouldn't think it would be too hard to do. People can probably do that with a bow.
