Intentions of shooting 1,000 yards make those 300-500 yard shots with confidence and ease. We will get results and make you a better shooter reguardless of your skill level. This is THE class for the long range hunter. Want to learn to shoot 1,000 yards off sticks? We teach that. Not to hit a plate to make a kill. When conditions will allow for a long shot and when you need to reserve that shot for a closer range bc conditions just won't allow. How to set up your rifle , read wind and mirage. What to do at different longitudes and latitudes around the planet and how it effects your shot. How Coriolis and spin drift effect your shot. Bullet profiles, terminal performance, proper cleaning and maintainence it's all in the class. And the food is top notch. When we finish with the level one course you can opt for a 3rd day of Level 2 training on the " Hunter Course" that is all situational shooting from field positions at targets ranging from 197 yards to 1,643 yards.
I would be very interested in one of these later down the road. Just getting moving on my rifle build though so would be next year I'm sure

I would definitely consider it if we had the numbers

depending on location/dates, I may be interested. Really depends on when and where. just picked up a savage model 12 target f-class in 6.5X284 this spring and want to learn the proper way to really stretch it's legs!

Date would be determined but this is the place I'm talking about.

I'd be in, depending on dates....pretty pricey, but looks like a good course. I've got a new rifle being delivered today hopefully that would be fun to work with.

subscribed to the thread, but with a turn around scheduled at work for most of December and a baby due in March, timing would be critical. being that it is about 5 hrs away, I don't see it happening unless it was after may 2017.

Guys discuss dates and I'll make it happen. If we only get 3 then we only get 3.I'll still honor the same deal. A former student named Alan Oehlert ,who originally came to the class after seeing an ad in LoneStar Outdoor news, attended a pronghorn hunt last week with us. Alan made a perfect double lung shot on a nice pronghorn at an impressive 1,010 yards! We all watched him trot 50 yards and tip over. Alan was absolutely confident he could make the shot from a prone position and he executed it perfectly! Reguardless of your skill level or how much skill you have you will have the knowledge and techniques to make these shots. We don't recommend you try to shoot everything at those ranges but when you are very confident at 1,200 yards it makes a 500-600 yard shot seem nearly unmissable. You just need a rifle that shoots well ( 1" @ 100 yards would be minimum) and a scope with adjustable turrets ( MOA or MIL) again please don't hesitate to ask any questions if they come up.

For a beginner does the time of year matter for the class?
Like its cold in the am and hot in the pm.
I've read temperature changes effect bullet trajectory and burn rated of some powders, also are mirages more prevelant?
I know those are all part of the long range shooting equation.

I hope my questions make sense.

No the time of year doesn't matter we teach you to shoot ( or not to shoot) in any temperature, elevation, azimuth of your shot , or any other situation you may encounter. Mirage is something all shooters deal with in mid day shooting. You can actually use it to your advantage you read wind speed and direction, just keep in mind the target you are seeing in a heavy mirage is an illusion of the actual target position. All these things can be calculated.
