What is the extent of your experience?
Something to consider is sample size. Experiences with one gun or even several of the same gun is only an extremely small representation of the whole. That's why it's important to get as many data points as possible.
When put to hard use, certain guns experience a higher failure rate than others.
Most Ruger semi-auto centerfire pistol's I've seen haven't made it through the first day of a class without some sort of failure. Same with XDs.
I listen to folks that teach these classes for a living as they're exposed to a wide variety of guns on a regular basis. They have a pretty good idea of what works and what does not.
When reading a review or recommendation, consider the source.

25,000 rounds through an xd9, 12,000 through a g35, about the same through my Para 16-40 (the pistol I currently run). The Ruger has only had around 1,000, but so far no issues.
My experience has been that most of your polymer pistols are all about the same: bad trigger, recoil, and sights. A 1911 may require a bit of tuning to run some types of ammo, such as SWC bullets, but they're just as reliable as anything else.

Out of the ones you listed, I'd go with the Sig. I prefer striker fired guns but The Sig would be the better choice compared to the others.
Ruger Centerfire pistols leave a lot to be desired. they should stick to .22s and wheelguns. Or finally figure out how to make a centerfire pistol that doesn't suck.
The XD has it's issues too. The grip safety is a huge deal breaker for me. There's no reason for it at all. There's also reliability issues with both the XD and Ruger when put to good use. I'm not able to trust either.
Another option your range would be the M&P9c or FS.
I'd strongly recommend looking into a used Glock or M&P. They will serve you better in the long run.

x2 exactly what he said. I would never buy a gun made in Croatia haha (XD). I owned a sig 2022 but wasn't a fan of the ergonomics or trigger so I sold it, however it was very reliable.

The M&P is a good gun and has better ergonomics than a Glock , (and I'm a huge Glock fan). I think I just saw where Academy is selling full size M&Ps for $449.
