Leupold makes a pretty good low power scope in the VXR line. Thats about as low as I would go and still have faith in it performing all the time and being good at night. Trijicon makes a hell of a low power scope for using at night. Its one of my favorites for night shooting. And then you can get an aimpoint.... you can do an awful lot with a red dot. T1 or T2 if you want to spend some money. I prefer them due to the size and durability. You can get the aimpoint PRO for under $400 with a mount and its a great optic as well.
