I'm leaning that direction....my brother is trying to get me to get the 32"....

I'm not real worried about the agility and quickness because they are both more agile than my SBE and I have no issues with it...

My 101 20 has 27" barrels and it tends to feel whippy but I shoot it OK. We hunt over large corn fields and I'd like a gun that my tracking and follow through are a bit smoother and my line of sight longer. There is not a whole lot of snap shooting...

Thanks for all the replies fellas. Keep them coming.

I really like the palm swell on the stock and the 30" barrels, as well as the sporting having 5 extended chokes.

I'm thinking I am of the same opinion as you.

Any issues with the chokes being more open as discussed above and on the net?

        .

Sorry for the miss information. Looks like they dropped the 30in in 2015. We bought his in August 2014.

Gotcha. Wish they had a 20 field in that option too.

The more I read, the more it seems folks are moving towards shooting the 30"+ barrels. I knew they were popular in clays but I had no idea 30-32" was so popular in the field.

I have looked at the 725 sporting & drooled all over it, the gun counter & everything else around, but I didn't pull the trigger on buying it, because I am concerned about the ported barrels......I have owned rifles with ported barrels & didn't like em. Guess I need to find one I can test out

I shoot a Browning XS Special with 32" barrels. It works great for Doves and I also use it for Trap, skeet, sporting clays. But I still love my 20ga Zoli with 26" barrels in the dove field too. I do strongly suggest the Muller chokes.

I think for the money, Browning makes the best O/U on the market. My problem is they never fit me very well without stock work. I also don't like the fact that you can't get a sporting model in the US that doesn't have the porting.

That said, the newer 725 feels the best of any Browning I've ever shot.

Have a local skeet club? Best place to
Get behind some guns IMO. And if it is anything like my club you will be amazed at how friendly and helpful they are.

My brother has a 525 sporting with ported barrels and I didn't notice anything near like a ported rifle's compression or sound. I am not too concerned about them. He says he loves them.

I'm having this one fitted either way. I've always shot the "one that fit the best" off the shelf and I've decided I want one that fits me for sure, not the best off the shelf. Dove hunting is my favorite outdoor sport and it is high time I invest as much in it as I do my other passions.

LOL...not yet. I will when I do. I'm going to take my time and handle a few and look for a good price since I have several months. I am leaning towards Ken Rucker at Speedbumps stockworks to do the fitting and stock work. He did my brother, a good buddy's and several other guys I have talked too.

Handled a b725 sporting grade 5 today. I can't get into the brownings as the beretta 686/7 just fits me better. But that was a beautiful gun

Ordered the 725 20 ga sporting with 32" barrels today from budsgunshop.com at a helluva price. If y'all felt an earthquake, that was my backside puckering up when I hit confirm order..

Seriously though I'm looking forward to getting this thing in fitted and shooting.
