I had the same problem with mine but in 270 i already had a Timney trigger. I put a cheaper stock on it from http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/ the barrel is free floating and shoots great. The biggest two things on these guns that are horrible from the factory are the trigger and the stock.

if not wanting to use a smith, start with changing the trigger

They had good reviews and it was cheap enough that if it still didn't group to my liking I wasn't out a lot of money. It won't let me post pictures from my phone.
