My dad shoots a .264, I don't know anybody else that even has one. Is it a odd ball round?

I've got a .250 savage that was passed down from my wife's grandmother. Wife shot her first deer with it this year. Pretty cool gun

Hmmmm. That's interesting to say the least! Most short action magnums I've had contact with prove to be very accurate (although it is a limited number). I wonder what keeps these from being the same. Good info though!

Generally I tend to go slightly off the beaten path. If everyone is shooting a 22-250, then I shoot a Swift. If everyone is shooting a 7mm-08, then I go with the venerable 7x57. Maybe those aren't really oddballs per this discussion, but I just like being a little different sometimes.

I think, here pretty soon, the old pre-64 M70 30-06 is going to get converted over to a .338-06. I have always wanted one. Don't really have any more use for it than for the standard 30-06, I just want it. I think it would be one heck of pig gun. I've got good flat shooters, I want a good pumpkin-roller.

Throat design probably. Which is why the 6XC shines. David Tubb knows his ****.

I also plan on picking up a Ruger No. 3 in .225 Winchester here in the near future.

The only cartridge that I can think of that uses exactly ".264" in its name is the .264 win mag. That one is a 6.5mm or .264 bullet sitting ontop of a belted magnum casing (same thing that the 7mm mag, .300 win mag, .300 H&H mag, .338 win mag, and .375 H&H all are)

It /should/ sling a 140 grain pill at 3000-3300 depending on your set up. Really sweet rifle, good for anything short of big bear and moose on the N. American continent.

My uncle love's the 9.3's. He's got a 9.3x74 Double, and a ruger no.1 and I'm pretty sure he's got something in the x62 as well. They're cool calibers for sure
