Does this drive anyone else crazy?

Does it drive you crazy when people call a magazine a clip? It drives me bat crap crazy when I hear it and it normally results in me correcting them. I use to be one of those people though until I went to Marine Corps boot camp and messed up and called the magazine a clip. Needless to say the Drill Instructor corrected me, I learned my lesson the hard way and will never call a magazine a clip again.

Aint that the truth. Its like nails on a chalkboard to me, I just cant let it go.

I call it a clip in my .22. I call it a magazine in my AR. So I guess I drive you just half crazy.

When my Buckmasters magazine comes in, I secure it to a board with my daughters hair clip and then empty a Magazine/Clip into it!!!

Not at all...

I would prefer to have a sport that is open and accepting to everyone, rather than one that you need to spend time learning the secret decoder ring before you can participate. You may actually inadvertently discourage all but the experienced or well spoken. Why not just roll with it?

I try to always refer to "magazines," unless web surfing for one. Half the time when I put "magazine" in the search it brings up just that...magazine (reading kind) for firearms. I finally learned to specify more on models, etc.

I try not to let it bother me but for some reason it does. Its one of those things I cant control. I guess the extra training I received for calling it that in boot camp really drove it into my head.
