Just one question do you load bullets into that clip/magazine or cartridges or shells? I use shells, cartridges, and bullets interchangeably all to mean the same thing never confused anyone, same with clip and magazine haven't had anybody confused about what I was wanting handed to me or was talking about.

Is a .30-06 a caliber or a cartridge designation? Haven't ever had anybody tell me any different or be confused by that either.

Think they are cartridges, or that is what is on the box. Reloading components include bullets, cases, primers, and powder to make a cartridge.

Shells (or shotshells) are typically used in a shotgun, or that is what is on the box.

That depends. Are you a Yankee? And to the op, I normally tell people that it's technically a mag. Just like I tell them that there's no such thing as an assault rife.

Magazines are what go into my guns. Clips are what my wife puts in her hair. Just call the thing what it is.

It's a pet peeve of mine too I just normally let it go.

I could care less. I read magazines also... I worry more about squeezing in that 13th round in a mag that is advertised to hold 15 rounds.

Doesn't bother me any more than someone calling a rifle or sidearm a Gun. (Military also) Words are about communicating thoughts so if the meaning is conveyed does it really matter?

I wish politicians would use clip instead of magazine when they write unconstitutional laws about capacity. All my clips hold 10, my magazines hold 30. If they ban 30 round clips I'm still good to go with a 30 round mag. Lol

Does it drive you crazy when people call a magazine a clip? It drives me bat crap crazy when I hear it and it normally results in me correcting them. I use to be one of those people though until I went to Marine Corps boot camp and messed up and called the magazine a clip. Needless to say the Drill Instructor corrected me, I learned my lesson the hard way and will never call a magazine a clip again.

Yes. Drives me nuts. I have lots of friends and family that ask me to spend some time w/ them on the range, teaching them to shoot better. It happens nearly every time. I will take the time to explain what a clip is and what a magazine is so that they know the difference. I saw many recruits in USMC boot camp be corrected for that same mistake you made. I, fortunately, picked up that before I had to be corrected. Got to love drill instructors.
