      I like the 300rum just to keep from upgrading as my ability does, and it will knock out everything in North America with authority. I limit to about 500yd now because I just haven't practiced enough to go further. Mine has a break of course because its a 7lb rifle. I have a 300wm also and its a great caliber without a break if you have the weight right. If its too light it will thump you.

        Shot was 642 yds. I shoot a 300RUM because I can and I do not like tracking animals. If I do have to track an animal with this gun it's more than likely not a far track anyways.

          I have yet to track an animal over 50 yards with a .243 with my furthest shot at 270-280ish. I could be lucky, but I'd like to think not.
