Sorry to hear that. Core-lokt never failed me. They are cheap and been using for while. The Berger bullets are nice- or what I've read at least. As mentioned, if not broke, don't fix it! Besides, Core-lokt is cheap- yeah 2nd time I can't say the same for my 300wsm Silver ballistics tip ;\

None. Never mentioned I did. I was referring to accuracy. Target shooting. The accubonds got squirrelly past 800 for me.

I won't shoot at a game animal past 5-600 ish. Not comfortable enough to do it yet.

140 VLD's coming out of a 24" bbl at 2800fps are nasty on whitetails! No blood trailing necessary when they're DRT! I also have to mention They make vitals look like a grenade went off inside the cavity lol

Also, ragin is the one who finally convinced me to try bergers. So I gotta give him the credit.

Kind of off topic (or not), but I wonder how many folks that don't trust a Berger in their mid-bore for deer, wouldn't think twice about their 7 year old kid shooting one with a .223? I have these random thoughts like this sometimes.

Anyways, I have ALOT more reservations about a Barnes penciling through and not opening up at long range than I have about a long, skinny, high sectional density Berger blowing up. Especially as range increases. That is what we are talking about, correct? Shooting long range? Because about anything will work under 200. If you are shooting the Berger it is for a reason, i.e. accuracy and high BC. If you are shooting your high velocity magnum at 150, then by all means you might need that serious construction (of a Barnes). Folks get too locked onto a brand name sometimes and forget to match their equipment to the task they actually want it to accomplish. Fact is, there just aren't that many bullets that are suitable for game at long range, it takes a very specific set of criteria to do it.

Remington is supposedly testing some bullets with a very high BC. It'll be interesting to see what comes out it. I would love to load some .700+ BC bullets in the STW.

                  Remington?! Hmm.

I have yet to run the new accubond long range bullets but the advertised BC is almost too good to be true. .652 in the 168 .284s. That's impressive. But actual may not be that high....

If anyone tries them, report back!!

Ya the remington is supposed to be running a BC of around .710 in a 178 grain .284, but like I said before we'll see. Sounds a little too unreasonable to me.

And they aren't known for super accurate bullets lol. I will admit their factory offerings in the accutip in my old 22-250 shot in the .4s. I was pleased. So I have a LITTLE hope that they will turn out a good product.
