Yeah, no reason whatsoever to prepare for anything.....
When I talked to my neighbor about the "Zombie Apocalypse" he thought it was a joke too. Until I pointed at Hwy 6 and said, "Do you remember Ike?" "Do you remember Katrina and Rita and how people were acting?". Then I saw the light bulb above his head come on. THAT is who the Zombies are.
It's not about being prepared for some science fiction BS, it's about being prepared for what you know full well can and probably will happen. A few days worth of food, water, fuel and a weapon to defend it and your family with is just good thinking. It has nothing to do with my Christian beliefs.

I have to agree with many here....The second coming does not mean.."Don't be prepared for the US of A going belly up or some other catastrophe....." I actually have always liked to have large quantities of ammo for any gun/guns I own....I think it is a good think to have canned goods and water stored....

There once was a old man who trusted in Christ. One day there was a HUGE flood. When his friend came by to help him evacuate he stayed in his home proclaiming, "God will save me." As the waters rose, the man went onto his roof to escape. A boat came by and asked if the man needed help. He again said, "No, God will save me." As the waters continued to inch closer to the top of his roof a helicopter came and asked if he needed help. Still, the man stayed and said, "No, God will save me." Soon the man had no more roof to stand on and fell into the rising waters and drowned. When he reached Heaven he asked, "My Lord, I waited for you to save me! Why didn't you save me?" The Lord replied, "I sent a friend, a boat, and a helicopter, what else did you expect me to do?!?!"

Man-made disasters(war, power outages, economy falling-out) probably aren't what the bible was referring to when it said times would get really tuff. Wouldn't it have been nice to have a 10 year stock pile before the great depression happened? I'm sure plenty of folk in France had a bit of regret for not prepping for the German invasion.
