Although small it is certainly an effective round and it is easy to carry thousands of rounds.

      I'm partial to .22 and it's versatility!

22 is the only affordable ammo to shoot. Want to shoot 500 rounds out of your AR in a weekend? $500. Bam!

Spend $200 and get a conversion kit to shoot .22 and you get the same plinking satisfaction for $50 of ammo. Takes less than 5 minutes to convert back and forth. I have friends that do it all the time.

Put a lot of lead down range really quick and really cheap. Not only is it hard to find 22lr ammo but 10/22 are hard to find aswell. And they eat 22lr. and what he said ^^^^ and great training practice round
If you go all the way back to the depression I'm pretty sure that more deer have been killed with .22 LR than centerfire rounds. Usually between the eyes with a spotlight. Deer in Texas were pretty well wiped out during the depression.

Eek, I better stock up my son's ammo as well as my own. Didn't think it would be hard to get 22lr!

Been looking for ammo since Christmas, found some at a gunshow with a price that made my jaw hit the floor. The panic buying is making finding any ammo hard to find. Saw people buying ammo at academy saying they were gonna resale it, didn't even know what a 45/70 was but they bought a box of it anyway.

Not sure but it sure is hurting our 4-H rifle team. Have enough for one more practice.

I hope he gets stuck with a bunch of ammo he cant use. Expensive ammo!
Dont everyone run out and buy 22lr if you dont need it. Stock up when the sky is not falling. Its not fair to the folks that actually need it.

This will blow over. Obama makes his big speech tomorrow. It will just be more flatuous gas without any lasting substance.

This is what I lean toward as well. Keep larger rounds for knock down power on bad guys in case **** goes down.

I have noticed that the shotgun rounds are not flying away like rifle. Although a good 3 inch round of 000 buck shot or a slug does pretty well for fending off rectums that plan on intruding.

Threads like this will even make it harder to find. People are panic buying. This craze will end soon................hopefully!

Didnt want to create a panic. I too believe it will blow over and agree with the above mentioned versatility regarding 22 lr. But I know that the left can't defeat this so not really worried. just making sure i had not missed the discontinuation of the 22 or something crazy
