I haven't compared ballistics between the 338 RUM and Lapua. I no the 338 Bergers aren't cheap. But, I guess nothing is cheap when it comes to long range stuff.

Here is a source for some actions and FYI McMillan is raising there prices 10% starting next year.

Yea I was to but once u start u just got to roll! I got a 5/16 bolt that was the same size as what u have to get down to. I took the bolt and cut the head off where I could lay it right against my bolt to judge size and once I got to were it was even and about the same size or just a hair bigger than the outside if the threads then I started chasing it then it was good to go.
Just make surely have a good die lol! Mine was old so I ended up chasing it with a nut that was the same thread and ran it back and forth with a wrench till it was good and easy and the I was good to go

What is the price per round of components in your 300 rum when reloading?

                                Thanks!

I Picked this up for $500 plus a $150ish worth of trade... Guy had lost his son last year in Iraq and respected me for what I did in the military. Got invited on some hunts and told me if I ever needed anything to let him know (owns a few mechanic shops in town). But this will most likely be a gun I hang on to. Got a RCBS Rock Chucker in the mail so I am looking forward to getting some reloads up and running.
