Just curious what the biggest caliber gun you’ve used to shoot an animal is. Mine will hopefully be a .338 lapua if all goes well next weekend.

My Mark V 460 Weatherby has killed deer and hogs by me and many friends brave enough to shoot it.. Bought that gun from Cullem & Boren in Casa View when they were closing the store after Oshman’s bought them out. Got the gun, Weatherby scope and 8 boxes of ammo. It was dirt cheap, nobody wanted that punisher.

Dad bought me a 300 Wby Mag when I was 16. Shot tons of critters with it and never lost an animal, first was a jackrabbit that literally exploded guts in trees and all. Dad didn't believe me so shot another one and it just penciled a little hole through it. These days I go smaller, shot my Elk this year with the 6.5 CM, ran roughly 30 yards.

Wasn’t really hunting, was target shooting at my buddies place shooting his 50 BMG. He had steel on a pipeline out to 1500. A pig decided to cross about 200 yards from me, and my buddy said send it. I put it center of shoulder and well, it wasn’t pretty. Wish I still had a picture.
Single shot bolt action his dad had built him.
