It's obvious to me this group that was hunting at KJO didn't see the animals that they were expecting to see and that sucks. It is also obvious that everything is not being told just by the simple fact that on the other thread by therealhatfield it said that nothing was seen but a couple of small blackbucks but now it has come out that whitetail and axis were seen and a ram was shot at and maybe a blackbuck shot. I agree that's not a lot of animals to see with 4 hunters but changing stories always makes me wonder what the truth really is and whats being left out. What was the weather like on your guys hunt? I'm curious because therealhatfield says he might go back if the weather is nice. I know at my hunting area, if the weather is bad I might not see a animal and might as well stay home.
I have been to KJO and will be going again in April and will also be taking a couple of buddies there from out of state after that and sure the heck wouldn't do that if I didn't believe we would have a opportunity to see animals and shoot.
Not seeing a lot animals sucks but it happens, even at the best places. I don't understand how you can Keith a stand up guy and then insinuate that he is a cheat and a swindler, that is just wrong. It sounds to me that the next place you go, you should get a guarantee that you will see a lot of animals.

Is this not the reason for a Forum? ???????

I had a great time with great friends killing a TROPHY is not what makes the trip. I mean don't you want the good with the bad? Read the story I wrote last year about the 13 inch black buck I took. I couldn't have been happier. I have hunted all over from Colorado to Wyoming. It's about the experince thats why we hunt. If it was about killing why would we go? I'll get on a bit later and try to respond to some of the critics but read my post.

Funny thing is that even if you tell some what they are doing wrong, they still argue with you about why they hunt that way.
It is simple. On a day lease the animals get hunted by every level of hunter. The animals get smart to the way that the average Joe hunts. If you can get in and hunt without being an average Joe then you up your odds of success.
You don't have to put in 17 hours a day on stand to be successful, you need to get off the **** established stands. Period.
Here is a perfect example. I killed my biggest Axis 50 yards from the gate of the pasture that everyone drives in and out. Where else is the safest place to feed down a road that has been fed? My stand was the inside of a watering hold tank with a step ladder.

It doesn't matter what is said the truth is out, I saw nothing, didn't walk I sat where I was told what else you want. I wish I had a video but there was nothing to video. This is a worthless thread if people can't tell about their experience, ask the other hunters what they saw, as for me nothing. It just keeps going circles, believe who want I have no reason to lie. Sorry for entering my experience, just don't believe everything you read, that where I went wrong. I guess this is why all the ratings are high at every ranch here. I know what I experienced it was hunting and get bashed for saying I didn't see anything to shoot. Would I recommend kjo, yes , if the food source is low. No, if they have had rain and they have grass to eat. if someone did walk around I'm not aware of it, besides Sunday I was aware guys walked around.

I was at KJO with 4 friends just prior to Muley's trip. His account of their hunt sounds very familiar. I can speak for everybody in our group because we discussed it at length after we left. We were all incredibly disappointed with our experience and will not return and would not recommend KJO to anybody. We hunted from Thursday evening to Sunday morning and if you were hunting for whitetails, goats or a donkey you were in business! I was ready to leave Saturday morning. The exotics and hogs were not coming to the feeders and it wasn't until after we had made 4 hunts that Keith decided we may need to do something else. Something else turned out to be giving us a folding chair and telling us to sit in the brush while he walked the fenceline on the off chance that one might run past us. Muley, I'm sorry you had the same experience but I'm not surprised. It was very apparent when we left that nothing was coming to the feeders, so for him to have you sit on the feeders wasn't a good plan. I'm also not surprised about the bashing that is going on. We all talked about posting something on TBH about our experience but decided not to because we knew we would get roasted for our comments and that is exactly what has happend to you. We all went away believing the animal count for the ranch was low. Yes it was wet and yes it was green but 5 hunters hunting as much as we did should see more on a 400 acre place that is under a high fence. We are all very experienced bow hunters with our own leases and all of us have been to day leases in the past, so we do have some idea on bowhunting and yes I do realize it's hunting! I was not going to post, but I couldn't stand to let a few people take the heat alone when we had the exact same experience. This forum is suppose to be about passing on information and experiences on day leases we all visit. We are not all going to have the same opinion but I'm glad you had the courage to post yours as we didn't until you did! This is not a bash on Keith as a person, he was a very nice guy, it is only a report on our experience at the ranch and our humble opinion.

Thanks for sharing your info. You are proof that other TBH's have had the same bad experience. It is a shame that these guys have been shredded for sharing their experience. Just because someone may express an experience contrary to the "norm", doesn't make their experience any less valid.
Walking along a fenchline while you sit in a folding chair is a backup plan?
