KJO Has anyone else had this Experince

I might be one of the first people to ever hunt with Keith back in 2004 or 2005 I believe. I can tell you in the 5 or 6 years that people on TBH have been going out there this may be the first negative thing said about Keith's ranches. To have only one bad experiences in 5 or 6 years I'd say Keith is still at the top of my book.

This is the exact point of my post about Im glad he posted his opinion. I know for a fact of other people that havent had 110% good things to say about KJO, but have failed to post because of the fear of being bombarded. Im glad some one has the guts to say their opinion.

I dont think anyone is knocking Keith here, and its pretty apparent hes a good guy. I think the swindled comment could have been left off the post, and may have been a little harsh.

I've been in these guy's shoes, and it's no fun.
Regardless of their reason or motive, they're giving a report of their hunt. Even though it goes against the norm, it is what it is and they don't deserved to be bashed for it, regardless of who you "know" that's giving you "information". Is there any chance that information could be jaded ... to try to uphold a seemingly untarnished reputation? Just because there are no other negative reports, about a ranch, on here doesn't mean that they have 100% satisfied customers ... it only means the unhappy ones aren't members of TBH. Believe it or not, there are bowhunters that aren't members!

I too, was ridiculed and strung out to dry when I posted a negative report about a popular ranch. You nay-sayers need to settle down and realize that your results are not the only results.

I feel this was directed at my post. I myself was not trying to bash the guy I was looking for more information because it seems to me that there is more to the story than what was originally posted. Don't you agree? Your last sentence is right on. But for myself I don't know anyone else that has been to Keiths, had a bad hunt and is not a member of TBH, so I go by what I see on TBH. You may have a different sources than me.

I am not disagreeing with you at all. I am glad he posted too! But after I read the entire thread there seems to be more to the story....Don't you agree? I want to here bad experiences but I want to here why they were bad....I didn't see one reason other than Keith knew they were bad and mislead everyone.

This forum is for sharing both good and bad experiences and there's no reason for a member to take heat for sharing theirs.

And for those responding to this topic, it's also fine to share your personal experience and even your opinion regarding the reasons the original poster’s experience may have been as it was. But, there’s no reason you can’t still keep all comments courteous and respectful. There is no need for remarks such as "Sounds to me like you are just mad you didn't get a trophy" (comment deleted, btw) or any such similar posts.

Me personally, I’ve only been on one day lease and fortunately, we did have multiple critters and shot opportunities on every single hunt (and these weren’t goats or sheep). Truthfully, I was surprised and expected it to be a lot more difficult given the fact it was heavily hunted year around. While I understand that it is hunting and like in Vegas, the odds heavily favor the house, I’d still expect to have a few opportunities to shoot over a multiple hunt weekend. IMO, that’s not unreasonable in the put-take type setup these ranches operate under.

Keith is a stand up guy. Mary and I have been twice. The first hunt we went on, we saw animals everywhere. The second hunt was different. It had been raining and there was fresh growth. Keith told us it would be a hunt, and it was. I STILL had a trophy axis buck within 40 yards twice. I just wouldn't take the shot that was presented. We did have other hunters that didn't get shots at animals, but that's the way it goes on those type hunts. You gotta go in with your eyes wide open. I do believe that Keith is one of the best that I have been hunting with though.

I agree with you Devin. I was actually lookin for backup when I posted my bad hunt thread. Since I was in the minority, I was wrong (in regards to my rate the lease thread). Thats why I thought we had a rate the lease section. to post good and bad hunts and to comment why they were good or bad. If they were all good hunts, they would just be posted in the bow huntin section. Not everyone has the same excellent experience. It's a shame that if you dont go with the flow around here, you get hammered by the masses.

Maybe rate the lease then lock the thread? Not everyone is ever going to have the same opinion about a hunt.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
