I was at Granger Sunday between gate 5&6. Around 4pm I was at the middle of the blood brush listening and watching for movement. The wind was blowing intermittently but blowing hard. Few minutes later I heard hogs squealing ahead of me so I decided to move every time the wind blows to cover for the noise that I was creating. I got to with in 15 yards of all the movements and the noise. I was hearing piglets and some adults. The blood brush is thick so wasn't able to see them until they got closer. I saw one 100 pounder at 7 yards but got my scent before I can pull the trigger and took off. The group stayed there for another 30 minutes but never came close. They started to move southeast from where I was standing so I decided to leave the blood brush and keep the wind on my face (wind was blowing from north on that day ). I got to end of the blood brush and waited. It was about 6pm when they got into the edge of the blood brush but the lead hog saw me and went back in. Around 6:05pm five adult hogs came out from the blood brush (east side )about 60 yards, too far to shoot. I stand up from kneeling position and scared away a deer 20 yards away to my right and that sound made the hogs go back to the brush so I decided to go home since legal shooting time ends at 6:13pm. On my way back to my truck between the trail of those blood brushes I kept on hearing movements and grunting. So when you go hunting out there check those blood brushes.
