I got on a pretty sweet lease in Kinney Co so I'm not too worried about it if I don't draw something. I usually out in for gator, exotics, and the chap.

I drew the 2nd year I put in. Last time I drew was 2 years ago. Been drawn a whole bunch inbetween.
Afraid it will be a while before I get drawn again, if ever.
Just wished TPWD would have put a cap on the number of times you could apply for one category.

Yeah I understand the idea of a cap on entries. Heck most of the reason I put in for the draws is because I can't afford a lease so it's my bonus chance. Just keeping my fingers crossed again

I was just looking at TPWD web site. I never had put in for those "$10" hunts, but just noticed, What happen to all the trophy deer hunts they used to have??? And I believe there were more. If I recall correctly, they were called Texas Big Time Hunts???

My dad got drawn for the Whitetail Bonanza in 2001. I think there were like 20 hunts in that category that year alone. The numbers really have dwindled in the last few years, but I do think you're making more out of this than need be.

Did not know they still offered them. I was looking at the regular draw hunts available and only seen 3 of those $10 to enter hunts and thought, wow, what happen to the rest of them. Like I said, never have applied for any. Just had me wondering!!!

All I am doing is asking questions and looking for answers.
So, if you know why the numbers have dwindled, please, speak up.

Can't speak for the other guy, but there's no problem at all in asking questions, only way I know to get answers. But all too often, folks just conjure up demons that aren't really there and don't particularly mind being vocal about it (although I'm not saying that is what you're doing). The 'TPWD is out to get everybody's money' and the 'there's no hunts at Richland Creek or Big Lake this year because it's TPWD initial step in ending the world' arguments are strange.
