You have up to 4 applicant/applications on each card.

It would make no difference if there were 425 cards submitted with 4 people on each or if there were 1300 cards submitted with only 1 person on each.
1300 is 1300 is 1300. It doesn't matter how it was divided up.
Don't think you understand what I'm trying to get across, I've confirmed this with tpwd, if they say 1300 applications were submitted, that means up to 5200 people applied. Law of averages its gonna be at least 2600 applicants.

          Did you submit payment?
I got drawn for GDE at Chaparral last year.
My permit was emailed to me within minutes after payment.

That's strange, TPWD confirmed what I said also.
I'm not sure which one of us is correct, but it can't be both, lol.
Either way, I agree with you that the number applying has gone up, but not exponentially.
Chaparral is probably one of the most popular hunts and it only went up about 0.5%

Even under the old system, I had 20 PP before I got drawn for the Chaparral. Hope I don't have to wait another 20 years to get drawn again.

Maybe more people will get tired of trying and my odds will go up. I doubt it, but it sounds good,

Heres the #'s on permits offered over the last 10 years for archery deer, from 2010 to 2013 I did include the crossbow category, this category went away last year.

                  2005-979 permits, 21 areas
                  2006-?
                  2007-666 permits, 18 areas
                  2008-641 permits, 20 areas
                  2009-667 permits, 21 areas
                  2010-805 permits, 21 areas
                  2011-712 permits, 20 areas
                  2012-559 permits, 15 areas
                  2013-476 permits, 16 areas
                  2014-363 permits, 16 areas
                  2015-275 permits, 16 areas

Thats a 72% decline in archery draw permits since 2005...

Something seems odd with the algorithm or the random draw computing. It seems like many of the people who were drawn last year were drawn for multiple hunts. I could see a person here or there but it seems that about half the people who say they were drawn, were drawn for multiple hunts.

Unfortunately money is becoming the main focus in every states wildlife departments. They could care less about the wildlife or the hunters for the most part. The more licenses and tags they sale the better. Look at Kansas no more land owner tages. Been that way for years now. Come November the whole country runs to that state.

That's crazy. Thanks for the numbers.
I wonder if gun permits declined over the same period? I'm assuming they increased...?

Not sure if the gun deer permits went up or down, I will check. Is this something the LSBA should get on? decline in archery permits/hunting opportunity...

Can't you buy a $40 permit and hunt over 1,000,000 acres? Why is erybody so hell bent on hunting in these parks?
