Leftridge... how did it get ruined?

Went out to a spot that I found a ladder stand late last year, brought my climber with me but left it in the truck. Well good thing cause once I got out there the ladder was gone.... back to the truck to grab the climber. Was set up kinda funny, no good trees without limbs in the area I wanted to be in so just went up high enough to clear some bushes out front of me. A doe and year old came out, but I had to draw early so she wouldnt see me cause I was pretty close to the trail. Since I was sitting down, I couldn't swing my bow across my body to get her in my sights. Had 3 more steps until I released but she looked up and saw me shaking cause I was at full draw for so long. Even though it was a doe... it would have been my first deer ever, first animal with a bow, and first on public land. But I like the challenge and it will be much better once I do get it and think about how much work I have put in these past two seasons.

Can't say without it being obvious where my spot is close to so I'm hoping that it all goes away before rut in November but doubtful it will!

Took the wife out,for an evening hunt. Got out a lil after 4 setup and within an hour had a doe come by about 50 yards out. Did a few fawn calls and had another doe come in on high alert. Perfect 30 yard shot. But she never gave us the chance. Faced us head on and kept looking hard then took off snorting. Gonna go try again tomorrow.

I saw a lot of does all too far away to shoot yesterday. I called it quits at 6:15 I was getting cold, I had dressed for the 50's not low 40's.

Relocated to a different unit because of the wind coming out of the north...this morning I was sitting in a triangle patch of woods on the south corner...wind straight into my face...had does come in at around 8:00 am but out of range...about 9:15 I had a lone doe come in at 30 yards...got the draw on her, but hit an unforeseen twig on the way to her...complete miss over her back...she didn't even really flinch so I nocked another, but she never gave me another shot...just good to see something moving around other than squirrels!!! Sitting in the truck warming up and eating lunch...I'm gonna get back in the stand and sit till dark (truck temp says 46 at 12:44)

Good luck. I had a buck snort at me when i first got in there yesterday. After that nothing all day but a runny nose.
