Question for anyone who has done the closed park hunt.....

Is it recommended that you bring a light popup to quickly setup wherever you get placed each day? It sounds like there are 2 stands, but I assume the majority of folks must setup on the fly and tend to shoot from a popup.

Last year they used the day use and screened cabin spots it was easy ... heck I used a tent since that what they are used to seeing. The screened in cabins you could just leave the door open and shot out of it.

I got picked but it is a different park so I don't know where the "honey holes" are.

                    I said.... 'hunting in progress'
He said 'didn't think ou guys were still deer hunting'
I said 'and hunting under a feeder is illegal, so you'll have to move along'
He muttered 'I don't have to do nothin, you can move along' ... luckily as he walked away with gun at chest.

Took this once I figured birdshot wouldn't hurt too badly if he was unstable.

Just sit at the picnic tables that are at the campsite, and don't wear camo, the deer are used to seeing people around the area and they will walk by,

A follow up to my earlier posts.

So at 5:45 I hear the rustling again, and someone yells out... asking if I got anything.

Animals at my feeder scattered and with my hunt ruined (and honestly fear that he was just coming back to vandalize my site or worse to continue hunting) I answered and got out of the blind to talk to him.

Over the course of the next 20 minutes, he informed me that he was not hunting any of the feeders, but that he was just flushing out the birds that were around them. If they flew in a huntable direction he would follow them and shoot them there. I am not an expert in bird hunting rules, so I will leave that up to the Green Screen to decide if that is within or outside of the rules.

I informed him that his photograph was all over the interwebs and that he has had folks complaining about him to the park office. He snarled that it could be anyone and there is no way that they could ever identify him. He seemed genuinely surprised when I showed him a crystal clear cam photo of him.

He informed me that the bird season is about to end and that he would not be around any more. Again, I am unsure if that is the case.

Anyway, It appears that the guy had no ill intent. We shook hands, acknowledged that we all share this opportunity to hunt, and went our merry ways. I gave him my name and did not push the subject when he chose not to reciprocate.
