Late afternoon we drove past the same spot where we found the lions early morning...

All thats left of the Cape Buffalo carcass was being devoured by a Spotted Hyena and three species of vultures.

It was great to sit and observe the interaction between the scavengers.

The Hyena female did not take any nonsense from the buffalo leg bone...

Then she decided the vultures are too cheeky and gave them a bit of a chase.

The Lappet Faced Vulture is truly an impressive bird

                  Thanks guys,

I am very happy if you enjoy the photos.

After the Spotted Hyena sighting we had the last few hours of the day left and I had a specific road in mind.

                  Magpie Shrike

This specific stretch of road was super productive and we found 4 of the Big 5 in less than 20 miles. Only the lions that did not put in an appearance.

The highlight however was this male leopard up in a tree with a warthog it had killed earlier.

Its does not happen often that you find a leopard like this...

Malachite Kingfisher enjoying the last hour before sundown to fill up on fish...
