    Southern Kruger National Park

Mid day in winter is still warm enough for the animals to look for shade , but do not underestimate the temperatures once the sun start setting

The Secretary Bird is also a great species to find.

He is patrolling the savannah looking for rodents, snakes and insects that he stomps to death with those long legs.

It can become quite a bit of dance that he performs especially with fast moving prey

The Grey Heron got some brunch as well

Giraffe on the way to the pond to drink making sure the lions moved away before coming closer.

We were pushed for time from this sighting as I had already drove over 80 miles for the day and had to make sure I get to the gate on time ...

Early the next morning we found a pride of lions on a buffalo kill not far from camp...

This guy really had a good session...

The new generation was there as well...

Black backed Jackal (African Song Dog) were on the side observing waiting for the pride to move away to sneak in for a possible meal...

We found three young lions basically next to the road.

They were relaxing in the early morning winter sun as just lions can....

This spot next to a lake was perfect for a early morning coffee
