Love this kind of thread! There's something extra special about closing the deal on a free range buck you have a long history with. Very tough to trick one that has been that good at staying alive, and the reward is like no other. They top the charts in my little record book regardless of score. Good luck!

Yeah, I'd put money on him even if he was bedded under the stand opening morning. Odds are great I'll have other deer on my mind and there'll be a narrow window at the end of season where I'd shoot him.

Apparently not. Seems everything has exploded, but he's just leveled off. I didn't get any day time pics of him last year until Oct and then it lasted all season, he's been goofing up at twilight since July.

I shot one last year that we estimated around 10, worst tasting deer I've ever had. Might as well just let him live out his days lol
