Thanks quack up , I did not know this about the code red.
A lot of people don't know this. I didn't think about it until I talked to a technical support guy from QAD.

I didn't think you were bashing. I thought your post was stated very well. Some people just get into a tizzy about stupid stuff. why people think anything said on a forum is a personal attack on the very things that they love is beyond me.

Some like only 2 inches of arrow support some can deal with 4 inches. If you get a pro v you get 70 percent more support. I get over 16 inches of arrow support during their shot cycle
If you're looking for more arrow support, why wouldn't you shoot a fixed rest and have your arrow supported its entire length? Not being a smart arse, just want to learn something. Thanks

The pro v is a simple fall away. If you have any sort of cord stretch it won't mess with your shot any. And it the support is more. But not the entire length. I don't want a capture rest like a wb or hostage. I have killed several deer with the wb but when your bristles start to wear out your nocking point can change and the arrow will not be shooting from the same place every time so you have to buy a new rest when they wear out. Well I would buy a new one when they wear out.

A fixed rest like a Star Hunter is a very good and accurate rest.
The principle of the shaft riding the launcher for a longer period is still what most target archers use.
With broadheads the new limbdriven and cable driven rest that are pulled down use the same principle. Another big advantage is the full capture feature, this solves most safety issues.
This year I am using a down force with a Trophy Taker spring launcher modified to fit the rest. It gives me the forgiveness of the spring launcher with a fallaway that allows me to use a 4 fletch target arrow.
I have used most of the rest talked about above and found them not qualified for tournament accuracy.

Another issue is that with helical fletching it is nigh impossible to get a micro diameter carbon to come off a fixed position type rest cleanly as nock position/tuning is a very very narrow range for proper clearance.
