I was at a 3D shoot that Nocked and Loaded puts on, great shoot for sure, was with a few of the local fellas and drew my Assasin back and the cheap plastic slide they put on BOWTECH exploded, good thing I could have gotten really injured any way, Took it to Arron at N&L and he got me all squared away with a good teflon slide, shoots better and safer now for sure. Get it replaced immediately if you get an Assasin and I love me some BOWTECH.

Ok thanks for the info guys.. I like the sharpie idea I'll be Gettin one soon.. A bigger question though... Why would bowtech put something on their bows that would do this? I love my assassin.. But makes me wonder..

I've been shooting my 2 bowtechs from 2004 & 2006 with the factory slide and they are still working and not causing any string/ cable wear.

            I guess I got lucky?

Do yourself a favor and replace it now, or at the very least, carry a spare in your hunting pack. Don't wait for it to break at the worst possible moment.

they do that because it is cost effective for mass production.

Yes my cable slide broke on my old diamond rapture. Didn't notice it till I was in the tripod one morning. Replaced it with a teflon.

I have a Diamond Stud and have noticed a couple of times lately that when I draw it is sometimes harder to draw at the beginning of the draw. Could that be the cable slide causing that problem? It has the stock plastic slide. One year old. Also, is it recommended to lubricate it somehow? i.e. teflon spray. I wander if I got wax on the slide and that is causing some friction. Hmm...

Please post up how that works for you, I have read some posts on Archery Talk where guys were trying that but they were getting some cable contact on their Assassin's.

Could be the slide.. They say that the hyperslide is smoother draw and gives a few extra fps too.. And yeah I'll post when I get the new slide

04 liberty cable slide broke after 5 years. Replaced it. 2 $. Not a big issue.

same thing I had an 05 tribute and 06 tribute and neither ever had an issue with the slide or the cable wearing.

Serve your cables and use a teflon slide.
