One tip that I will add is to find some of the thinner nylon strap, kinda like a dog lease and use it to replace the inner plastic strap. Works like a champ.

We've always used innertubes to do the same thing. I may like your strap idea a little better.

yes, but you can make it look a little better and last longer by putting the old broken halves over the 'new' strap.

Also keeps the screws from running through the webbing.

Let me know if you figure out how to fix the "push button lock" on the igloos. I know you can buy a replacement kit, but I hate to spend good money when some southern engineering would work.

Great idea! I have used strips of all weather carpet from the bunks on my boat trailer with some success. Just save the old hinges to screw on after the carpet. I bet the straps will last longer.

anyhow..........here are pics of the latest repair.....I double over the webbing so I have two layers.

5 minutes to cut the webbing, burn the ends, and install.

Anyone know how to fix a giant crack down one of the outside corners? A $19 cooler should last more than 11 years shouldn't it?

(seriously, if anyone knows how to fix a crack, post it up)
