Chew I called the rock you gave me and he has not been able to get slag for 3months. Last weekend I said screw it and went with a smaller road base under the barn and got the midsize base for the road. I was impressed as it leveled out good and looks great. I need to let the pocket heal after four loads.....I lost all my live oaks I bought due to no watering....looks like we may have some rain in the forecast Friday???

My local guy between Fairfield and Buffalo told me slag is super hard to get now, he has to get in line on Tuesdays to get any from the place he gets it from and hope they have enough for all in line. Said all the spring rains washed out so many roads they are having a hard time getting materials. Liked to choke when he told me $400 for a tandem dump truck load of base rock and $425 for slag. What have ya'll been paying for slag and rock?

I got a load of slag last year (I think he said 13 tons) for $350'ish. They get the slag for dang near nothing and just charge you for delivery. But all the other rock they charge a lot for. I need to get some for my road but don't have the money.

Whats a rip-off on slag is they used to give it to the counties or pay someone to haul it off, then they got wise and started to sell it. Chew your repair on the washout looks good. You have done a lot to your place in a short time.

Swap out that talum ammo for Monarch 55 gr soft points. Still plenty cheap (considering- $11.99 at Academy) and does a number on hogs.
