    Cooler radio builds

It's cooler radio season for me so here's one of my current builds.
This ones is the loudest one Iv done so far.
    Consist of:
    4 JBL 6x9 speakers
    1000w Pyle marine amp
Still finishing it up but here's a few pics.
If anyone would like one built pm me and we can work something out.

How much does that set up cost?

That particular one would be about $450-$500 I'm still figuring it out since it's my first big one.... The smaller ones I build have 2- 6.5" with a smaller amp that run about $300. But I usually build according to what someone wants and price from their.

I've been contemplating a build myself - my concern is battery life. With the system shown, what's the expected battery life? I was thinking something maybe a little smaller and adding solar panels to help w/battery life; know this is not an exactly cheap option but still just in the planning phase.

I can rum my 750w amp with speakers for over 10 straight hours on a 285amp hour tractor battery.

Hope that helps. I also put an onboard charger so i can plug extension cord into one plug and it charges in a few hours.

Next option I am adding is the blue tooth device so no more cords. Bboswell TBH'r has a post somewhere on what he bought and how it works.

You can always run a larger battery like a deep cycle and probably run it for a long time. I went with the smaller battery for weight issues when loading and unloading.

I also used an Igloo Cube with wheels so I did not have to carry it but roll it wherever I am going.

Iv been playing with it today, so far it's ran at med volume for about 3 hours on a feeder battery.... If you get the smaller Pyle amp it will run even longer. Before I had a deep cycle battery in it and you could use it for several weekends of heavy use before it needed a charge. But now I'm just wiring up a few feeder batteries together to get a longer run time.

Maybe a silly question but where is the beer gonna go?

In another cooler lol.... This one's purely tunes. Eventually il build a combination one, just takes allot more work to do properly.

Is there no battery in the picture? Or is that it on the left?

That's it on the left. Plan is to either link 4 feeder batteries together or try to fit a lawnmower battery in it.

What type of battery is that. I'm working on a new stereo cooler that will hold ice in one half so space is at a premium. I'm only running a bluetooth head-unit and two 4 inch speakers so power consumption wont be huge. This will be a little lower key than my previous coolers.

It's just a regular feeder battery.... If you can, find a 8amp/hr but most are 7. Typically il link them together in series to get longer battery life. Lawnmower batteries work really good as well.

Most are used in a wet environment like tubing the river. We use marine equipment so it can get wet without worrying about breaking. They also get much louder than a normal radio.

But mostly we build these just to build something. It's kind of like shooting a deer at 100 yards with a 300 mag. A .308 does the same job but man is it fun shooting that 300 mag.
