            updated progress pics

painted, and added a base. not my idea, borrowed from another DIY build. After messing with it today I need to move the 3/8" bolt down more towards the middle for a more balanced attaching point, where its at now it wants to pull the bottom up when more pressure is added. Also will be going with a soft loop end strap rather than the S hook you see in the pics.

Got the tubing cut for mine and bought the flange bushings. Found them at ACE. I'm about to grab the bolts here at work. I don't have the mount you used but I'll figure something out.

I haven't found a 1/4" knob yet to secure the pan/tilt head to the arm. I'm anxious to get this thing assembled!

Sweet build. Good idea on the base and how to attach it. Nice work.

I noticed you have the strap higher than the bolt, is that causing it to pull up on the bottom?

Also wanted to suggest coating everything in that plasti-dip to make it quieter.

It looks great. I like the extra sections to give you more flexibility. I have one made by gorilla, and it's nice but there is no leveling mechanism and there are only two or maybe three sections.

Also, if you use it at more than one stand it would be nice to have one of those mounts at each stand and be able to drop a pin in or something to quickly and quietly attach it without having to lug the entire thing around.
