This would be great for the Jeep or a post hunt tailgate! Can't wait to see the finished product.

        You have a time frame?

Finished was used in a loose way. I gave it a layer of paint for its inaugural river run, but was not pleased with my end product. It goes today to get sprayed with bedliner. Then all that is needed is some work on the inside to finish it off. Need to add in the divider which will separate the cooler from the amp and battery.

OH YA!! It is top heavy, however by the time you load it down with ice and beer you should be fine.

                  He hopes!

I've done it quite a bit building speaker boxes for trucks. The best way I've found to do it is forget about brushes and rollers. Get some rubber gloves and dip your fingers in the mixed resin, spread it with both hands and pat it down as it's curing. You won't get any air bubbles that way. It's messy as heck but there's no part of fiberglassing that isn't. Be sure not to use latex gloves as the resin melts through them quickly. Spread the resin lightly with quick, short strokes or the glass mat will drag and bunch up where you don't want it.

Also like somebody mentioned earlier. After fiberglassing fill in your gaps and rough parts with bondo, then sand it down, then add again where needed.

I've been a slacker, however it is not technically finished. I'm picking up a piece of plexiglass either tomorrow or Monday for the inside divider. After I install that I'll post pictures. All electronics are in place and the outside is finished. Just need to section off the inside.

Next week I'll post the final product in all it's lack luster glory...

It is top heavy and that is my only real disappointment. I did see this as an issue early on, but didn't have a good solution.

If/when I build another, I'll use this one to make a fiberglass mold. Thereby eleminating the weight issue.
