What is a New Battery going to cost when the time comes? More than the car is worth? Do you junk the car and buy a new one? Just questions that I have about EV's!

They ought to make a couple of different batteries that fit all cars/trucks. Instead of just charging stations, make battery exchange stations.
You ought to be able to push a button, pull a couple of levers and you are refilled and back on the road.

I agree. If it is going to get close to working it has to be like a propane exchange. All bottles are the same. Go to an exchange, get a new one and good to go.

Right now, several different batteries and not knowing how/when they deteriorate, you can’t exchange apples for apples. It would be like the propane bottles not being able to be totally filled over time and not knowing what level they are filled.

They are doing it exactly how they want it done. There is no desire for these care to be convenient

The car is one big computer ( actually most are ).
I wouldnt be surprised that one day they turn your car off because your GPS showed you constantly speeding. The fine, 30 days no car

Onstar can disable a moving vehicle if it gets stolen. BMW is now charging monthly subscriptions for heated and cooled seats. These eve’s sell monthly subscriptions for certain upgrades. Yes, any newer vehicle can be turned off and not made usable by the manufacturer.

Exactly. Not to mention, if someone wanted to shutdown our travel, they can just stop the power to the gas stations we all rely upon. Or the refineries that purify our fuel.

Any vehicle with an infotainment screen and/or Onstar since 1995 can be remotely shut down as long as it has the OEM computers in it. Most new vehicles have 3 puters. ECM, TCM and BCM. Engine managment, Transmission management and Body management. Any one of these 3 is capable of disrupting the vehicle operation. People often overlook what the BCM can do.

In automotive electronics, body control module or 'body computer' is a generic term for an electronic control unit responsible for monitoring and controlling various electronic accessories in a vehicle's body. Typically in a car the BCM controls the power windows, power mirrors, air conditioning, immobilizer system, central locking, etc. The BCM communicates with other on-board computers via the car's vehicle bus, and its main application is controlling load drivers – actuating relays that in turn perform actions in the vehicle such as locking the doors, flashing the turn signals (in older cars), or dimming the interior lighting.

                            its completely about control

don't like what the govt tell you, they just shut down the grid. also limits the ability to gather/travel

has nothing to do with the environment. those leading this charge new they needed something they could get lot's of people to buy into and that was climate change. now they have the cloak

Anyone remember several years ago hearing about Agenda 2021, or Agenda 2030? One big goal was to get people to move into the cities. It is MUCH easier to control people when they are confined to small spaces than it is when a lot of the people are in rural areas. People in cities are also MUCH more reliant on city provided services for their existence.
