Abbott! Proven, not perfect, but has Texas at the top. Big risk on the others.

I personally don't trust any of them but in the primary I want to send a message to Abbott so I am voting for who ever is on top. I personally don't think any of them can beat Abbott he has more Texas big money behind him than Bush did

I don’t like that abbot did the lock downs. If he wouldn’t have done them I believe Texas would be the only state that didn’t lock down. My guess would be he did them more so for a legal reason. Now he has prevented anyone including himself from doing the same which is great. Still researching his opponents.

Oh I agree but as it is for right now I personally do not see a viable candidate! New meat doesn’t mean better by any means! They are all FOS because they are Politicians, Including WEST!

Florida didn't lock down. South Dakota didn't lock down. Texas did, thanks to Abbott.

7 states didn’t lock down. Florida wasn’t one of them

I see Rick Perry is on the ballot.

Made me do a double take.

It's not governor good hair. It's a guy from Springtown who is a desktop technician for Lockheed Martin.

                  Nicely played, Ricky, nicely played.

So how would Texas had been the only state that didn't lock down if Abbott didn't lock us down?

One of the few. The 7 state’s populations combined are 1/2 of Texas population. I said I didn’t agree with the lock down but if I were in his shoes not sure what I would have done at the time. Hindsight is 20/20 obviously now lock downs were terrible

Lots of us knew this and were saying it in March 2020, including lots of Texas mayors and legislators. Heck, even Abbott himself was saying that for a few minutes early on. But he jumped on the big government power trip and ran with it.

So it's really who can win against Beto now.

After digging in to West and Huffines.....nothing but promises.

I agree. Like I said earlier, I'm back to Abbott.

I don't see anyone who'd vote for Abbott not being able to vote for West in a general election, especially if Beto is the other choice. And I don't see them sitting at home if Abbott isn't on the ballot, especially if Beto is the other guy. If anything, West could possibly draw a few leaners away from the Democrats.

The general election will be closer than a Texas election should be, thanks to all the big city Democrats. But I don't think any potential Republican candidate is going to change the dynamic of the general election much one way or the other.
