He may be solid ... But I can't get past his used car salesman/greasy politician look. Following along to see what y'all say

The only one I have seen without that look is Chad Prather!

He'll probably get my vote over West for two reasons:
        1. An actual Texan and didn't just move here to try and reboot a political career.
        2. He has never held a political office before, he is fresh blood.

I like West but the guy literally just moved here to head the state republican party for recognition, quits after a really short stint, then runs for governor. Literally the definition of a carpet bagger, whether you like it or not. I don't think his intentions are truly for the people and what's best over his interests.

I'll say it again for the hundredth time, in my opinion, if he had the peoples interests at heart he would be looking to unseat Crenshaw, SheJack, Green or hold out and unseat Cornyn.

Snake oil salesman. Buyer beware. Due diligence research. Nasty bald faced lies in his attack ads especially against Abbott. Whether you like or hate Abbott one must not condone these sort of lies, especially concerning the border.
Also does anyone think for one instant that a governor can just up and eliminate Texans' property taxes, POOF, just like that? Dumb people will believe dumb things so I guess that's what he's counting on.

I agree with this 100% sick and tired of these **** Yankees running down here putting on a cowboy hat and trying to be a Texan and take an office seat.

At this point I am pretty solid behind Huffines at this point. I need to research a little more but he sure seems to be on the right side of most issues from what I can see.

Abbott ran on property tax reductions and basically has done nothing. Just wondering?

So just curious who are you planning on voting for?

I am leaning towards Huffines for the same reasons as others. But Lina may be the reason I vote in the D primary.

Haven't decided but in the end it will be for whoever wins the republican primary. As for the primary, I may have to vote against someone rather than for someone. I will do my research and try to sort out the most truth from the lies, smears and empty promises.

That makes sense to me. He may be alright but something about his track record just don't pass the smell test.

As for Abbott, he seems to be doing a better job now than he did early on when the pandemic hit. Nobody liked the lockdowns but I can understand why it happened since no one knew what we were really up against at that point. My biggest problem with him is he seems to play to the middle too much which makes him too soft on issues that matter to me. Maybe it's just the politics of the thing where he want to get along with the liberals and get a few of their votes. All politicians seem to promise things they know full well they can't deliver. I don't like that but it is what it is.

Polls showed him being down & election getting close. Gotta get reelected. He's pandering now. As far as I'm concerned he is RINO. He screwed us & the pooch on lockdowns.

That is my problem with him. He should have taken a hard line stance and told everyone to pound sand this is what we are going to do in Texas. Instead he was a panzy and caved in to the pressure. Then he has the nerve to turn around and executive order away and ban anyone else from doing the exact thing that he did at the beginning. It was crap and is crap and I will not forget that and forgive him for it. He showed his true colors during the pandemic.

                            Anyone but Abbot.

If you like West, you don't know him. He is a moderate liberal dressed up like a conservative. Go to one rally of his and you will know.
